Lubbock ISD Students Named to UIL All-State Music Groups

The most prestigious accolade a high school vocalist or musician can achieve is to make the University Interscholastic League All-State band, choir or orchestra.  Nine Lubbock ISD students recently attained that honor. In addition to months of preparation, the students compete in a series of auditions against other students from this area and the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

The students will perform at the Texas Music Educators Association annual convention in San Antonio, February 13-16.

The 2008 LISD All-State students are:

Orchestra

  • Sarah Rhoades, Lubbock High School junior

Choir

  • Philip Palmer, Lubbock High School senior
  • Cole Seifert, Coronado High School junior
  • Sarah Young, Coronado High School senior
  • Devon Langford, Coronado High School junior
  • Catherine Swindle, Monterey High School junior

Band

  • Preston Wickersham, Lubbock High School senior
  • Natalie Ham, Lubbock High School senior
