The Zorbeez: Does It Work?

Billy Mays has been the face of all sorts of Infomercials lately.  In this one, he shows us how great the Zorbeez Multi Purpose Cloth works.  He says it can pick up spills and can hold more than 20 oz of liquid.  You get ten of them in your package in two different sizes, all for $15, but Does It Work?

Before you use the towels, they recommend you wet them first. Not sure why and I'll tell you in just a few minutes.  For this test, we poured soda on the carpet to see how well the towel absorbs.  "Eh, not bad. You can see a wet spot, but not a stain," said Cecelia Jones, NewsChannel 11's Does It Work tester.

We squeezed the towel to see that it picked up quite a bit of the soda out of the carpet.

The bigger Zorbeez towel can absorb more than 20 ounces of liquid. Here, we have a little less than a liter.  We're going to see if the bigger towel will soak it all up.  Remember, we told you about the towel we had to wet first but were not sure why, because when we used the wet towel to soak up the water, it didn't do a very good job.  However, we tried a dried towel instead and it soaked it all up.

For our final test, we poured soda on a table.  We used a paper towel, a cloth towel and the Zorbeez.  We wanted to see if we could challenge this so called "amazing" cloth.  Could it do a better job than the others?

The Zorbeez left no trail of liquid behind.  The paper towel was a mess.  The cloth towel left a trail.  Zorbeez prevailed and we were very impressed. I say, it works!

However, there are a few things you should know. Although the makers claim this towel can be used over and over again, and is machine washable, I did some research on the internet only to find the towel has a tendency to tear apart at the ends.

You can buy the Zorbeez at Wal-Mart, Bed Bath & Beyond and Walgreens.  You can also order it online by (clicking here).
