Some parents are concerned about the latest craze in alcohol marketing: energy drinks that contain as much or more alcohol than a can of beer, but still look like the energy drinks that are popular among teens.
Concerned parent Dan Howard says, "You cannot now take that same product and put alcohol in it and not also expect that product to be strongly appealing to the youth market. That is exactly what they're doing."
Howard is waging a campaign against the beer industry for marketing these drinks in the same look as their popular counterparts with no alcohol. He wants other parents to be aware of the difference. He also says that sometimes the alcoholic energy drinks are even cheaper in an effort to pump up sales.
