Brianna Graves has been a miracle story on the Children's Miracle Network for three years now. Her parents thought they were going to lose her this spring when she suffered a major setback and dropped to 76 pounds. Not only did she recover, she is back at school in Slaton.
On Monday she was in the president's office at the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. Dr. David Smith, who is Chancellor now, went back to his old office to give Brianna three tickets to the upcoming Britney Spears concert along with a Texas Tech lab coat, and an offer that made them both smile.
"I've gotta tell you this is the neatest part of my day and I did tell you the job's open. This is the office. So, if you want to apply for president, put your application in you look pretty good in that," said Dr. David Smith, Chancellor of Texas Tech.
"I told him thank you so much for making her dreams come true, because it is one of her dreams. And you know, she has been through so much and of anyone I can think of she deserves this because she has fought for her life this year," said Lori Graves, Brianna's mom.
NewsChannel 11 will have more on Brianna's personal struggle with Gorham's in a special report leading up to the Children's Miracle Network broadcast in June. The tickets that Brianna won are not just regular concert tickets that Dr. Smith gave her. Brianna, her sister, and her mom will sit in the chancellor's box for that sold-out concert in June.
