TTUHSC Names Endowed Chair

On Wednesday, Texas Tech Health Sciences Center honored the late Dr. Shannon Holloway by naming an endowed chair after him. That signifies a $1.5 million gift to the Department of Orthopedic Surgery.

Texas Tech Chancellor Kent Hance said that because of endowed chairs like this one in orthopedic surgery, "Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is able to continue research that improves the lives of West Texans."

Dr. Holloway completed his residency here in 1980. He died of abdominal cancer in 2006.
