A Lubbock jury handed down a ten-year prison sentence to Tito Marquez. That same jury found Marquez Guilty of trying to move 148 pounds of marijuana through the Hub City.
"There are ruling of law that we believe that were something that can be appealed," Kelly Clark, Marquez's Defense Attorney said.
Assistant District Attorney Will Boyles said, "Lubbock County citizens spoke with a real clear and united voice today (Thursday). They said, drug dealers you bring your poison into our community and we're going to send you to the penitentiary."
DPS troopers arrested Marquez in July of 2006 during a traffic stop. Troopers found the marijuana hidden in several Pennzoil drums.
