Man Charged with Firing Gun at Northwest Lubbock House

A weekend shooting landed a Lubbock man in police custody, and left a northwest Lubbock home with nearly a thousand dollars in damage.

Police arrested Matthew Wilson, 22, around 3:30 a.m. Saturday. He is accused of firing a shotgun at a house in the 6100 block of 6th Street. The bullet broke out the glass and peppered the front door with holes.

Officers arrested Wilson nearby, on Ironton. Before dropping his gun, police say he pointed it at them, and resisted arrest. Officers were forced to user a taser during apprehension.

Wilson is now charged with aggravated assault and deadly conduct.
