What if you were in an accident and needed blood, but couldn't reach the hospital to get it? Now, there's a solution - blood made of plastic.
Researchers at the University of Sheffield say they're developing an artificial 'plastic blood' that could be stored as a thick paste and dissolved in water right before giving it to a patient. The artificial blood is made of plastic molecules similar to hemoglobin. But unlike real blood that needs to be refrigerated, the plastic blood is stable at room temperature.
