Three fallen Odessa police officers have been awarded the highest honor.
The families of Arlie Jones, John "Scott" Gardner, and Abel Marquez received awards at a memorial service Thursday in Odessa.
The families were given Medals of Honor, the highest honor awarded by the Odessa Police Department. The officers were shot to death after responding to a domestic disturbance call on September 8, 2007 in Odessa. Investigators say Larry White opened fire on the officers as they approached his home.
White is now charged with three counts of capital murder and three counts of attempted capital murder.
