Scout Camp is getting an upgrade.
Members of the South Plains Council broke ground Saturday afternoon at Scout Camp in Post.
Thanks to the more than $600,000 raised, thousands of Boy Scouts will eventually enjoy a new archery range, rifle/shotgun range, bunkhouse, challenge ropes course and much more.
"We are really going with the ranch theme out here to pay homage to our West Texas heritage. We're real excited. This is a great opportunity for our scouts and volunteers to use our facility to help improve their program," says Rodney Carpenter, with Boy Scouts of America.
The South Plains Council serves more than 4,300 youth and 1,000 adults in 20 counties.
