A band of snow moving across Lubbock Thursday morning slowed the commute for drivers.
Emergency crews responded to at least 83 accidents in the area due to hazardous road conditions. Seven of those wrecks reported minor injuries.
Sand trucks with the Texas Department of Transportation responded to Lubbock area highways, including Loop 289.
School officials in the area, including Lubbock, did not delay start times, although road conditions are slowing the arrival of students.
