Governor Perry Asks President Bush For Federal Aid

Governor Rick Perry is asking President Bush for federal aid after wildfires burned 70-thousand acres across the state this week. Perry identified 184 Texas counties, including Lubbock County that were threatened or impacted by wildfires in a letter to Bush.

Perry asked Bush to issue a Presidential Disaster Declaration for the state. The governor's office said Saturday that 75 different wildfires have destroyed 60 homes and structures.
