An apple a day just might help keep Alzheimer's away, according to a new study from Cornell University. Researchers have found that fresh fruit, especially apples, bananas and oranges, may protect against the neuro-degenerative disease.
Lab tests showed that phytochemicals in these fruits prevent neurotoxicity in brain cells. Researchers say that those at risk of developing Alzheimer's could benefit from eating these fruits. They say apples have the most protective antioxidants followed by bananas, then oranges.
