His oath was to serve and protect. Now, a nineteen year veteran of the Lubbock Police Department is in trouble, after he allegedly caused a four car pileup and fled the accident scene.

Police tell NewsChannel 11, that Timothy White, 41, rear ended a car in the 7400 block of University on November 29, 2007. The collision led to a chain reaction involving four vehicles, and causing injuries.

White was not on duty, and driving his personal vehicle at the time.

Last week, a Lubbock grand jury indicted White on a charge of failure to stop and render aid.

The Lubbock Police Department suspended White indefinitely on January 11, 2008. He has since been terminated.
