Why is it that some women can't get the men in their lives to turn their attention away from video games? A new study from Stanford shows that video games activate the reward centers of the brain in men much more than in women.
The study compared men and women who were hooked up to functional MRI machines while they played a simple video game. The scans showed which parts of the brain were activated. The male brains were wild with activity in the reward center of the brain in sharp contrast to the mild reaction among the female brains.
