A series of house fires in Central Lubbock is under investigation.
The fire began in a shed near the alley of 20th and Avenue T around 9 p.m. Wednesday. The fire quickly spread to two other houses.
Two teenagers say they saw it happen, "It came out of the center of the shed instead of coming out and all you heard after there was little bangs like an explosion."
It does appear that at least one home is vacant. There is a for sale sign. Power lines were sparking and a big concern for fire crews but there was never a power outage.
Investigators haven't released a cause, but this is the same neighborhood where there were four arson fires last month. The January fires were intentionally set in the 2100 blocks of 21st and 22nd last month. Wednesday's fire was close by in the 1900 block of 20th Street.
The Heart of Lubbock Neighborhood Association is still offering a reward for an arrest and conviction in the previous arson cases.
Reward Offered In Arson Investigation
Lubbock Police are now stepping up patrols in central Lubbock, after investigators ruled a fourth fire in the area arson. Meanwhile, neighbors are on alert, and a new reward is being offered to catch the person responsible.
