Crash Victims Improving

Five people who were rushed to the hospital after a car crash Saturday are improving.

DPS Troopers say a Ford Explorer and a truck were on FM 1585 when the driver of the SUV signaled she was going to make a left hand turn at FM 179.

Troopers believe the driver of the truck, Michael Chase McElroy, grew impatient, attempted to pass a car behind the SUV, but crashed into the side of the Explorer.

Two Aerocare units were dispatched to the wreck.

The driver of the SUV, 46-year-old Betty Bingham, was flown to UMC where she has been upgraded to serious condition.

The driver of the truck was flown to Covenant. He is also in serious condition.

Three children, who were passengers in the SUV, were taken by ambulance to UMC. Their conditions are not available.
