If you want a seat on the Lubbock City Council, Monday is the first day candidates can file for the May Election.
The four council seats up for grabs include the mayor and districts 2, 4 and 6.
The mayor is elected citywide and serves a two-year term. Council members are elected from six districts and serve four-year terms.
Candidates must file their intentions with the City Secretary's Office by March 10.
Election day is May 10.
