Councilwoman DeLeon's "Today Show" Appearance - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Lubbock City Councilwoman Linda DeLeon braved the cold temperatures in the northeast Monday morning, in hopes of getting Lubbock in the national spotlight.

"Willard Scott's gonna wish Lubbock, Texas a Happy 100th Birthday," said Al Roker, as he read DeLeon's sign in Rockefeller Plaza.

DeLeon was bundled up and barely visible as she shouted thank you to the Today Show weather man.

Lubbock officially begins its year-long centennial celebration next month. Opening ceremonies will be held Sunday, March 2nd at City Bank Coliseum. Tickets are now on sale at Select-A-Seat.
