Research Shows Music Helps Heal Strokes

Researchers in Finland have found that patients who listened to music in the first days and weeks after their stroke showed dramatic improvement in verbal memory.

In fact, they showed a 60% improvement tree months after the stroke. This is compared to an 18% improvement in those who listened to audio books and 29% who listened to nothing. The  group that listened to music also reported less depression and confusion than the other two groups.
