Investigation Into 18-Month-Old's Skull Fractures

An 18-month-old Muleshoe baby, with skull fractures, is in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at a Lubbock hospital.

In the meantime, investigators try to figure out how the injuries happened. Muleshoe police tell us the mother brought the child from Muleshoe to a Lubbock hospital Tuesday night. The hospital notified police and Child Protective Services of the injuries.

We're also told, a medical examination discovered the child may have suffered head trauma in the past, possibly other fractures.

Muleshoe and Lubbock police as well as CPS involved in this investigation. The child's injuries are not life threatening.
