Fire Near Plainview Fueled By Wind

Hale County officials say the high winds are pushing a large grassfire eastward. The fire started around 12:30 Monday afternoon, seven miles south of Plainview, and east of FM 400.

The National Weather Service says the fire has burned more than five miles. Firefighters had the blaze contained, but a wind shift caused it to spread again. An abandoned building was destroyed and others are threatened.
