After a massive grassfire in Snyder on Saturday, authorities say there are a few hot spots that continue to burn in places, but that there is no immediate danger.
Residents are starting the clean-up process after the fire burned hundreds of acres and forced the evacuation of several homes, Western Texas College, and a local nursing home. The fire did not reach any of the buildings on the WTC campus, but parts of the golf course and softball fields have minor damage.
Officials say the faculty's quick response kept anyone from being injured. Area crews in Snyder have also been busy replacing telephone poles that were also burned in the fire.
