The Red Cross is helping a family of seven Tuesday, after a fire ripped through their east Lubbock home.
The fire broke out around 2:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of 17th Street. Flames and thick smoke could be seen billowing out of the house. Firefighters rushed to the scene and quickly put the fire out.
The residents of the house, two adults and five children, were able to escape without injury. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
