Governor Rick Perry has appointed Yvonne M. Caldera of Lubbock to the Early Childhood Intervention Advisory Committee. The committee is part of the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, which serves Texas families with infants and toddlers with disabilities or developmental delays.
Caldera is a professor of development and family studies at Texas Tech University. She is past president and founding member of the Latino Faculty and Staff Association and a member of the Society for Research in Child Development. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Tulane University in New Orleans, and a master's degree and doctorate degree from the University of Kansas. Caldera replaces John D. McCloy of Katy for a term to expire February 1, 2013.
