Lubbock City Council Approves Water & Sewer Rate Increase

Water and sewer rates are going up in Lubbock and it starts next month.

Thursday, City Council members gave their final approval. Water rates will increase 16 percent and sewer rates by eight percent.

The rates will double current costs over the next six years to cover construction of the Lake Alan Henry pipeline and a wastewater treatment facility.
