A 25-year-old Kress woman, who is expected to be transferred to Surgical ICU, is being treated in the emergency room for critical injuries.
Corporal John Gonzalez with DPS says 25-year-old Erica Vuittonet, of Kress, was northbound on Quaker Avenue when she ran a stop sign at FM 2641 just north of Hwy. 84. A Ford Explorer collided with the driver's side of Vuittonet's car just before 5:30 p.m.
Emergency crews used the Jaws of Life to free Vuittonet from the vehicle. Ems took her to Covenant Medical Center with critical injuries. The driver of the SUV, 44-year-old Jane Perez of Lubbock was treated and released from UMC. DPS says both women were wearing their seat belts.
