Hotel Fire, Water Main Break in South Lubbock

Nearly 30 guests were evacuated from a Lubbock motel after a fire causes a big mess.

The fire started around 2 a.m. Friday morning at the Ramada Inn at South Loop 289 and I-27.

As fire firefighters fought the flames, a water main broke from the fire hydrant crews were using. Then, water flooded the streets and also cut off water to nearby businesses.

The evacuated guests were relocated to another motel.

The fire remains under investigation.
