There is another new diet everyone is talking about. This one is "The Flat Belly Diet" from the editors of Prevention Magazine. The new diet consists of healthy eating with a dose of chocolate early in the day and a little monounsaturated fatty acid at every meal.
Some critics argue that it just isn't realistic to plan on losing pounds in a certain spot. Lisa Richardson, a registered dietitian, says, "What concerns me is the claim that when you lose weight that it will be specific to the abdominal area. I'm a little nervous about making that claim because I think a person's genetics, their hormone profile, sometimes their stress and sleep patterns can be determining their belly fat." Richardson adds that the diet is so strict; you might as well stay at home because it's almost impossible to dine out on this plan.
