Two More Candidates Enter Race For Mayor

The deadline to file your paperwork to run for city office has officially come and gone.

On Monday, Roger Settler and Gilbert Montes added their names to the list of candidates for mayor. They'll be competing for the office against incumbent David Miller and former mayor pro-tem, Tom Martin.

One Lubbock City Council member who will not seek re-election is Phyllis Jones. Monday morning, Jones released this statement about her decision, "it has been an honor for me to represent the citizens of District 4. These last 4 years have been a highlight of my life; however I have decided to not seek re-election."

Jerry Bell, Paul Beane, and Tom Keisling have all filed their intent to run for City Council District 4.

Election Day is May 10th.
