Red Raiders Lose in Big 12 Tourney

Pat Knight's Red Raiders lost to Oklahoma State 76-72 in the first round of the Big 12 Championships in Kansas City. Alan Voskuil led Tech with 19 points.

With the loss, the Red Raiders fall to 16-15. They will not make the NCAA Tournament, but still have hope to make the NIT Tournament. Being over 500 and having wins over ranked Texas A&M, Kansas State, Gonzaga and Texas should allow Tech to continue into the postseason in the NIT.

Those bids will be announced Sunday after the NCAA Tournament Pairings are released.

We are starting off the weekend cool, but warmer temperatures are on the way along with a break from high winds today. Sunday we will a combination of warm temperatures and southwesterly winds sustained at 20-30 mph in the afternoon hours. With high temperatures, low relative humidity values and high winds, we will see the return of an elevated risk for wildfires.
