There was quite a sight in downtown Lubbock Thursday. Two Japanese sword masters were practicing their art on the Lubbock County Courthouse lawn.
The pair has been coming to Lubbock for the past seven years to educate students and demonstrate their craft at a Lubbock dojo.
"They're very interested in the armed Texas culture. The sheriffs are an armed society that live by a code of ethics and serve something greater than themselves, and that is the definition of a samurai," said dojo owner Walt Bushey.
Both practice a line of samurai training dating back 450 years.
