"I know the Most Wanted segment has really helped local law enforcement. It's the first case that we've profiled on Most Wanted, but it was directly responsible for this arrest, and I'm sure it's going to help in many more," U.S. Marshal Ronnie O'Neal said.
We're moving our eighth suspect to NewsChannel 11's captured wall. Your tips led authorities to a wanted sex offender hiding out nearly 700-miles away in Waco, Texas.
James Michael Fields, 32, is now on the captured wall. Fields served probation for a 1994 charge of exposing himself to an 11-year-old girl. Now, authorities say he's offended again.
Fields has three warrants out of Hale County, two for aggravated sexual assault of a child, and one for indecency with a child.
Several agencies joined the search for Fields, including the U.S. Marshals. Friday afternoon, we learned your tips led Marshals right to where Fields was staying.
"After he was profiled on Channel 11, we received a tip to the Waco area, and that tip was sent to the U.S. Marshal's Office in Waco, and they located him at a ranch outside of Waco where they made the arrest," O'Neal said.
Fields arrest gives NewsChannel 11's Most Wanted a success rate of 73%.
