Egg Hunt Draws Hundreds of Youngsters

While a lot of folks celebrated St. Patrick's Day on Saturday, hundreds of youngsters had a different plan.

60,000 eggs greeted eager hunters at six different parks across Lubbock Saturday morning.  Children at Legacy Play Village in southwest Lubbock didn't waste anytime filling their baskets.

The Easter Bunny was also on hand for family pictures.

Lubbock's Centennial Committee organized the hunt.

"What was really nice was that the centennial committee sponsored all of this, so people could get pictures with the Easter Bunny for free, and everyone is able to attend," Maxey Community Center Supervisor Aimee Ruel said.

Lucky kids who found a golden egg, also went home with a special Easter Basket.
