LCU Lady Chaps Win NAIA Tourney Opener

It was Morning Madness for the LCU Lady Chaps as they tipped off the NAIA National Tournament in Jackson Tennessee at 8:30AM against St. Xavier University and pulled out an 81-78.

The early tip didn't slow down the Lady Chaps as LCU led 42-25 at the half and built the lead to 20 before the Lady Cougars roared back to tie the game at 63 with less than 7 minutes to play.

But LCU opened up another small lead and held off St. Xavier to advance to the Sweet 16. Former Coronado Star Bailey St. Clair led the way with 17 while Sierra Wilcox-Lovorn netted 16, Carolyn Manning added 15 and Jordan Hampton 12 for LCU, who is now 24-9.

Up next, LCU plays the winner of today's Noon game between #1 seed Lee Tennessee (31-2) and Brescia Kentucky (18-12). That game will be Friday at 2:15 in Jackson Tennessee.

LCU is into the Sweet 16!!
