Perry Seeks More Money For Wildfire Recovery - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Wildfires across Texas this year have scorched almost a million acres of land. Governor Perry is asking for more federal aid to help with recovery. The request comes as a fire in South Texas reignited. The blaze forced the evacuation of 500 people on Wednesday.

Since January, more than five thousand wildfires have burned more than nine hundred forty thousand acres and destroyed 140 homes. More than 200 Texas counties have been effected.
