Speed may be a factor in a tragic accident that killed an infant and sent four others to the hospital Saturday evening.
Police say a Pontiac Trans AM was traveling westbound on the Slaton Highway at a high rate of speed when it slammed into a white passenger car attempting to turn north onto 66th street around 7:30P.M. Saturday evening.
The Trans AM rolled several times, landing on its roof and eventually sliding into a ditch. It's believed the Trans AM was speeding due to a medical emergency.
An infant was ejected from the vehicle and was later pronounced dead at Covenant Hospital. Two adults were taken by ambulance to Covenant with serious injuries. The driver and passenger of the white car were taken to UMC.
