The woman who kidnapped a Lubbock newborn in 2006 is headed to prison.

Monday morning, Stephanie Jones, pleaded guilty to kidnapping and abandoning a child. She was sentenced to ten years for each count, which she will serve concurrently. Jones will be eligible for parole at a future date.

Jones posed as a nurse at University Medical Center in June 2006. During that time, she befriended the mother of a newborn. Days later, she kidnapped "Baby Priscilla Maldonado" from her home.

The next day, Lubbock Police found the child abandoned under a car port of a North Lubbock apartment complex. She had been left there for at least an hour in hundred degree heat. The child has since recovered.

The courts postponed Jones' trial four times since 2006.
