It makes for a lot of drama on TV shows and even news stories, but a new type of home testing kit could change that. Now, from the privacy of your own home, you can answer the question "who's the daddy?"
Sorenson Genomics, a Salt Lake City company, is offering the first over the counter home paternity test. You can buy it for about $20, and then it costs another $120 to send off for the results.
But results from the do-it-yourself home paternity test are not admissible in a court of law. So the test would have to be repeated by medical experts if it became a court issue. But as a personal stress reliever, this take home paternity test will likely be in big demand.
