Millions of adults and children take Singulair for allergy symptoms. Now, the government says it is investigating a possible association between Singulair and suicidal thoughts. Four families have reported suicide in young people who were taking the drug.
There is still no direct link between Singulair and suicidal behavior. However, the drug label already carries warnings about tremors, depression, suicide, and mood changes. The FDA says the investigation could take as long as nine months. So, in the meantime, they say there is no need to worry if you're taking Singulair and feeling fine- but if you begin to feel differently or moody, talk to your doctor.
