On Wednesday, the Texas Rangers said that outfielder Carl Everett has been placed on the 15 day disabled list because of a strained left hamstring muscle. The Rangers recalled outfielder Ryan Ludwick from AAA Oklahoma. Ludwick was to make his major league debut with the Rangers on Wednesday night in Anaheim.
Everett's placement on the disabled list is retroactive to Monday. It is his second stint on the disabled list this season. He was out May 5th through May 21st with a strained right calf muscle. Ludwick is batting .271 with 10 homers and 38 RBIs in 57 games for the Red Hawks this season. He was acquired by the Rangers from Oakland in January.
Everett is batting .200 with five long balls and 18 RBIs in 38 games with the Rangers this season.
