Former Red Raider Leads Baltimore in Win Over Yankees

Rookie Travis Driskill outpitched David Wells as Baltimore beat the New York Yankees for the second time in three nights 4 - 3. Driskill pitched into the eighth inning, allowing three runs and seven hits. He was leading 4 - 1 until Jorge Posada hit a two-run homer with two outs in the eighth, ending Driskill's day. Driskill improved to 3 - 0 with help from Jorge Julio's 10th save.

The Orioles took the lead for good when Melvin Mora produced an RBI single in a two-run third inning. Jerry Hairston's sacrifice fly put the O's ahead 4 - 1 in the seventh. Tony Batista homered off Wells, who gave up four runs and eight hits in eight innings. Wells is 6 - 3.
