Large Grass Fire in Borden County

Fire crews in Borden County battled a large grass fire south of Gail Monday night.

The Borden County Sheriff's Office said that as of 6:00 p.m., crews had contained the fire at the intersection of Highway 669 and County Road 257. They say the fire started at a ranch, and burned several miles before fire teams gained control.

Authorities are still not certain what sparked the blaze.
