One person is hospitalized this morning following an accident in west Lubbock. Police say the driver of the car was traveling north on slide road around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
When he reached 26th street he lost control of the car and hit a metal pole. He then continued to drive and struck a wooden pole.
EMS took the man to hospital with moderate injuries. LP&L was later called to scene to fix the light poles.
About an hour later at the same intersection, a woman ran into a cop car as he was directing traffic after after the first accident.
There were no reports of injuries, but the driver was arrested for driving under the influence.
