Nine-Year-Old Drives Car Into East Lubbock Home

A 14-year-old boy is being cared for at University Medical Center after a 9-year-old boy drove a car into his house.

The accident happened around 12:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon in North East Lubbock.

Police say the father of the 9-year-old was attempting to teach his son to drive. As the little boy was trying to park, instead of hitting the brake, he hit the accelerator and ended up parking his families Lincoln Towncar halfway into this house.

Lubbock Police, Fire and EMS responded, officers on the scene say the father could face a charge of allowing an unlicensed person to take the wheel.

The 14-year-old boy was taken by ambulance to UMC with moderate injuries.
