One Furry Reason Not to Litter - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Everyone has heard the anti-litter slogan, "Don't Mess with Texas." And NewsChannel 11's Colin McElroy spotted yet another reason why.

Just outside KCBD Sunday, Colin spotted a prairie dog as he struggled to remove a piece of trash from his head. The curious scavenger had apparently poked his head through the hole of a fast food lid.

Citizens for Prairie Dogs, the organization that helps relocate the animals, says prairie dogs are very intelligent. They say one of his companions likely helped free the rodent from his "trap."
