Almost all the ballots are counted for in Tuesday's, March Primary Runoff Election. The numbers from Lubbock County are final.
Republicans elected Chris Winn as their new party chair with 63% of the vote. His opponent Bill Franklin had 37%.
"We put together a team, and I want to take that team and basically support the party across Lubbock and then take that party across Texas," Winn says.
He adds that the win is a great way to celebrate his birthday Tuesday. He officially takes the roll as party chair on April 29th.
And in the statewide election, with 59% of the vote it looks like Mark Thompson will be the Democratic nominee for Railroad Commissioner. Dale Henry has 41%. That's with about 99% of Texas reporting.
Thompson will face Republican incumbent Michael Williams in November.
