He's been a driving force in trying to pass the 2008 Farm Bill, and Wednesday Congressman Randy Neugebauer was appointed to the House and Senate Conference Committee that will hammer out the final details of the $286 billion piece of legislation.
Senate and House leaders have split over how to fund $10 billion needed for the new legislation.
Neugebauer says swift action is needed and he released this statement this afternoon, "Congress has been working on this Farm Bill for more than a year, and it is time we find a way through this conference committee to do our job and complete this process."
According to Neugebauer's office, the conferees will meet Thursday.
