Saturday is the annual KidsFest Roundup, when the Texas Tech School of Nursing teams up with the Lubbock Health Department. The whole idea is to protect kids with vaccinations that are required, but to make it fun for the kids and make it free for mom and dad.
"We're going to put on a health fair with 26 different agencies that are coming. They'll talk to them about healthy eating, about fire safety, about child abuse, how to take care of your pets, and many different areas. It's a fun thing we try to also have little games and prizes for them and face painting. So, they can forget about the fact that they had a shot and still learn some things," said Linda Brice, RN, Assistant Professor, TTUHSC School of Nursing.
The event is Saturday the Lubbock Health Department from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The shots are free to kids but remember, kids won't get a shot unless they can show their shot record.
