A familiar landmark in Slaton received special recognition Saturday.
The Slaton Harvey House is now recognized as an official Texas Historical Landmark. The Lubbock County Historical Commission hosted a dedication ceremony Saturday morning in Slaton.
Built in 1876 the Harvey House served as a place for travelers to rest and eat after getting off the Santa Fe Railway. Today, the house is a bed and breakfast, event center and Historic Santa Fe Landmark.
